Celebrating 20+ Years of Irish Dance in Saskatoon!
Welcome to Queen Maeve School of Irish Dance! Since 1995 QMSID has been offering Irish Dance lessons that focus on fun, fitness, and friendship. We have always included dancers that range in age from the very young, to those that are young at heart. As Saskatoon's only non-competitive dance school, we firmly believe that everyone should have the chance to enjoy Irish Dance without the pressures of adjudication. Instead of competition, our dancers perform at various community events throughout the year such as céilís, our annual winter recital, St Patrick's Day celebrations, and at TCU Place for our year-end recital. We welcome new dancers, no matter their ability!
Meet the Instructors
Liz Harrison - President of QMSID
Liz is a dance teacher who loves to laugh and have fun while dancing. She spent 13 years dancing competitively and has currently taught at Queen Maeve for 24 years. For the past 25 years, Liz's day job has been teaching both students and teachers in Prairie Spirit School Division. When Liz is not busy teaching, she loves paddle boarding and spending time with her family at the lake. Liz strongly believes in the concept of inter-generational dancing and the connection that is formed when adults and children dance together. |
Mallory Brabant - Instructor
Mallory has been teaching dance at Queen Maeve for about 12 years, and spent 10 years prior to that as a student at the school. Mallory works for a non-profit profit organization in Saskatoon and is passionate about equality and social justice. In her spare time, Mallory loves to draw, paint, and complete creative projects. A few of her favourite things include her dog and cat, iced coffee, yoga, art, reading, meditation, turquoise, the ocean. What Mallory loves most about QMSID is having the opportunity to get a great workout without the pressure of being "perfect"; as well as the sense of community and inclusion. |
Kathryn Harrison - Instructor
Kathryn has been a part of the Queen Maeve family for over 20 years. After beginning her dance career at a very young age, she has now taken on the role of teaching our youngest dancers for the past 5 years.
